Organized violence against politically active women in Zimbabwe is a growing problem, both for individual victims and on women's access to political participation.
A repressive political environment and lack of coordination among CSOs have prevented this problem from being addressed. This project team the National Constitutional Assembly, Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions and the Zimbabwe National Students Union to fight against political violence, and conduct a campaign against political violence as a platform to promote human rights in Zimbabwe. Through strengthening politically active women in their capacity to participate politically and set the political violence on the agenda both in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Denmark and the EU. Through counseling at the local level the project seeks to develop and create options for victims of political violence.
